Absent Minded

Analyzing God

You seem to get credit
for everything mankind does for the good
and benefit
of everybody and everything
and sometimes mother nature slides
her blame onto you
you never make your presence known
don't seem altruistic
no one has really met you here
but they swear, on a stack  of bible
that you're perfect

To me, you're suffering
a god, treated like a genie
without a lamp
we invoke to wish upon whatever
and shove a crime scene in your 3rd eye
a dead baby reminder
to keep you in check

Are you still mad?
Do you need another dose
of what mankind is capable
of throwing away?

Whose really the sick puppy
staring into what reflection
exercising what?
wishing what away?
