Absent Minded

Blackmailed by god

yes god is alive and he exists
and it is true there is a game we play
to get a selfish wish
it isnt easy to sneak around the block
in footsteps of shadow and methods of madness
you dare not speak
to get your chance as you cast out silently
and when they catch on thats what you are doing
then you are on spotlight and they try to ruin
the game of surprising god you got going

but you see
its harder than that
as they sing their songs
about worshipping the devil to disguise their footprints
of how they are not evil but are after their object to crave
so first you have to figure out who this god or these gods are
how to surprise them without getting caught
but if you read and listen closely
you will notice the real mccoy
the real god
is doing the same

he is hiding in the shadows
stepping in and out of the light
he is waiting patiently
as he blackmails others to do what they do
and say what they say
momentarily borrowed
im probably blackmailed by god right now
in a game im trying to play im a puzzle piece for everyone else
they might come to surprise
come to decide if i have any more clues
as to what others are absent mindedly giving away

Feat of unequal measure to find god
but does that mean our lives are going to be one sentence?
and can i surprise the one mind setting up the minds that stand out
that from this distance seem so obvious
asking me if i remember and have i forgotten
can surprising all of these minds surprise the one mind
and do these people know or realise what they are
just like me
a piece of a footstep in time
blackmailed by god
and at the scene of the crime
wondering how am i to surprise an all knowing being
unless im the only one uninvited

I see the end now
the dark works to surprise the light
the light works to surprise the dark
and us in the middle working overtime
with our ignorance as bliss
either choose to believ or live in a delusion

but what about the gullible god thats planning to fail?
